The event features several prominent South Florida men showing off their cooking skills to raise money for worthy college students and attendees sampling their culinary creations.

Northeast Community Consortium Health Walk West Palm Beach


The Northwest Community Consortium, Inc. (NCCI), a group of churches, non-profits, civic associations and businesses dedicated to the revitalization and improvement of the Northwest Community of West Palm Beach held a Health Walk to honor Thomas R. Vickers, Jr., a physician and force in the African American community who died in 1965 Saturday, October 23, 2010 at The Salvation Army Northwest Community Center West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Health Walk sponsored by The City of West Palm Beach, Bank of America, Palm Beach County Health Department, GreenbergTraurig, 1st United Bank, and Wachovia/Wells Fargo provided health check-ups by the Palm Beach County Health Department, blood pressure checks provided by City of West Palm Beach, and food and entertainment sponsored by Florida Public Utilities and Payne Chapel AME Church.

Tundra King a 46-year-old Lauderhill police captain and cancer survivor is able to share a smile and some laughs while sharing her experiences at the fourth Annual Old Fashioned DSTea on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the E. Pat Larkins Center in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Sponsored by the Pompano Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society focus is to raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, salute breast cancer survivors, encourage regular breast cancer screenings and teach women and men how to practice breast self-exams.

After coming off a four-game suspension Ben Roethlisberger returns today to start against the Cleveland Browns. Though the Steelers went 3-1 without him, they rank last in the NFL in passing after playing with Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon at quarterback.
