Book signing with author Marsha Sims was held at the new West Palm Beach Public library in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida.
Ms. Sims, author of “Organizing Your Day: Time Management Techniques that will work for you,” explains that if you want to enhance your life, whether it be starting a business, writing a book, or whatever you want to do, “do it a little bit at a time”. She adds that, “planning is essential; one should obtain a calendar and use it efficiently, and write down what it is you want to do on a daily basis.”
On a personal level, Ms. Sims yields a personal commitment and is sincere in her approach to helping others, and offers the following advice to those in their struggle to maintain constructive organizational techniques as it relates to significant objectives. She says that, “time management is not the art of getting everything done, but getting the important things done.” More importantly, she adds, “people need to understand that they are not alone, and that the time crunch is happening now more than ever”.

2009 Moonfest Halloween Street Party Clematis St. Downtown West Palm Beach Florida
Halloween night it was my intent to spend time at Moonfest like I've done the last couple years. The traffic turned out to be a mess all the streets leading to downtown were closed and traffic was like a parking lot
Moonfest is a Halloween type street party that takes place yearly in October on Clematis St. Downtown West Palm Beach Florida from 4 PM to 1 AM. It is a not-for-profit festival and admission is free to the public an included live bands, circus acts, carnival rides, merchandise vendors, food, a haunted house and live DJ's, About fifteen thousand people attended Moonfest.
I decide to avoid the traffic on Clematis St. and opted to spend the early evening at Wet Willies, Carousel Can Can Café and Taverna Opa at Cityplace West Palm Beach, Florida. Traffic was not much better parking lots were full to capacity.

Labor Day weekend we decided to go up to Georgia to see my niece Kenisha (center top photo) perform in her marching band at Central High School Macon, Georgia. This is her senior year and her grandmother has never seen her perform

Delray Rocks vs North West Broward Raiders peewee 2009
After riding down to Margate, Florida for my grandson's football game I realized that I had left all my memory cards at home. I was planning on doing some experimentation with some portrait work. After scrounging around my trunk I found a 128mb card, my camera indicated I could only get three frames so I adjusted the settings to JPEG normal where I could get 64 frames. So, I changed my plans and decided to shoot one half and be very selective. It was my intent to submit a photo to the Westside Gazette in Fort Lauderdale and the Forum Publishing Group that covers Delray Beach, Florida.
Running back Dakaral Cabell, #2, of the North West Broward Raiders breaks the tackle of Delray Rocks Nygil Shannon as he scores his second touchdown in the second quarter of a South Florida Youth Football League peewee game in Margate, Florida.
Broward won the game 12-0 as Cabell scored both touchdowns on two long runs in the first half.
Baby portrait
My first photography job was at a Sears’s portrait studio where I basically photographed children all day. This portrait of three month old Souleah was similar with the exception of not having a controlled environment and no props.
I initially was going to use a window as my main light with her laying down on her stomach in her parents bed and hoping that she could hold her head up long enough for me to get a good shot. That didn't work as good as I would have liked although Souleah was very attentive and bright eyed throughout the whole shoot but we could not get a smile out of her.
She was starting to get a little tired but her parent still wanted to get a smile out of her. The last photo was of her being held up by her father next to her baby crib which turned out to be the one I like the most, still couldn't get a smile but looks more like an environmental portrait. This was shot with one Vivitar 285 flash shot through a 42” umbrella as the main light and the window as the fill light.

The Florida State Football League, Semi -Pro Football League
Palm Beach Titans Terry Taylor, top, tries to escape the attempted tackle of Antonio Duncan of the Lake Park Tigers in the third quarter of a Florida State Football League semi-professional football game Saturday night at Suncoast High school in Riviera Beach, Florida.
This game had interest to me because it was between two neighboring cities Lake Park and Riviera Beach with most of the players knowing each other. The game had lots of trash talking but not much of a game with Palm Beach winning 46 - 0.
The Florida State Football League is a non-profit, semi-professional football league that provide an avenue for men ages 18 and up an opportunity to still participate in an organized sport that focuses on community involvement, leadership, sportsmanship and discipline.

Girls basketball Lincoln Park Academy vs Forest Hill High School District 14-4A semifinals
I don't usually get to shoot a lot of basketball because of being a high school basketball official. This is my 27th year as a basketball official with the East Coast Basketball Officials Association.
I refereed the first semifinals game of the girl’s District 14-4A Fort Pierce Westwood vs Jensen Beach basketball game Thursday night. After my game when I got to my car I decided to go back and shoot some of the second game between Lincoln Park Academy vs Forest Hill High School.
I wanted to play around with a one light setup using a Vivitar 285 flash super clamped to the railings of the bleachers on the baseline and pointed at the top of the three point line. I was shooting on the baseline up in the stands next to the flash and trying to find the sweet spot where the flash didn't overpower the ambient light.
My exposure was ISO: 1250, Shutter: 1/250 and Aperture: F2.8 with an 80-200mm Len.
