Miami Dolphins spread holiday cheer to shooting survivors

I was doing a Christmas feel-good feature story on Miami Dolphins cheerleaders when I stumbled on this tragic story that the Miami Dolphins were trying to do something to help these kids deal with their tragic loss.

Dolphins cornerback Benny Sapp is all smiles as he cuddles 2-year-old Kristian Jack at the Dolphins ‘Fins and Kids Holiday Toy Event’ on December 14. Kristian and his siblings were invited after they lost their mother at the hands of a boyfriend in a murder/suicide on November 20. Sapp felt a special bond with the siblings because he lost his father to gun violence when he was just five years old.

Nat King Cole Generation Hope foundation

I love this photo and thoroughly enjoyed this shoot of Timolin Cole Augustus & Casey Cole Hooker twin daughters of the legendary musician Nat King Cole, although I only had a minute or two to get this photo before they were scheduled to present a $5000 donation for instruments for the Jeaga Middle School band program in West Palm Beach, Florida Thursday, December 9, 2010. They were so warm and friendly and a lot of fun to be around.

Nat King Cole Generation Hope foundation was created by his twin daughters to benefit music education in South Florida schools.

All I want for Christmas is two gorgeous Miami Dolphins cheerleaders

I actually had the privilege of seeing another side of Miami Dolphins cheerleaders as Aja Stevens, left, and Kristena Wright were at the Miami Dolphins Fins and Kids Holiday Toy Event as I was doing a feature on the cheerleaders. They were gracious enough with their time to allow me to play around with some photos around the Christmas tree at the Miami Dolphins Training Facility on Tuesday, December 14, 2010.

Lileth Hogarth Fashion- designer Unveils the “Lileth’s Couture Collection”

I have not covered any high fashion since doing the Ebony Fashion Fair many, many, many years ago. Last night I was covering Fashion designer Lileth Hogarth as she unveiled her “Lileth’s Couture Collection” on Saturday, November 6, 2010, at the Environ Cultural Center in Lauderhill Florida.

I would really like to thank Ms. Hogarth and the models for their patience I know I stepped on a few dresses and bumped into a lot of the girls in the cramped backstage area. I have a definite appreciation for what they go through trying to dress in such small cramped quarters with all the hectic activity going on around them and still look so beautiful and elegant.

The event was sponsored by the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce with twenty-five percent of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
